Why does Tiger continue to drop his head

IMO, his head dropping is not a flaw, its part of his "natural" power squat. It just so happens that the swing he is currently working on doesn't match up well with a sizable drop in his head. It crowds him through impact and thus he gets stuck. He probably doesn't drop much when he is hitting finesse shots and short irons, but it shows up glaringly when he tries to go after it. A lot of great players throughout history have had a noticable drop to start the downswing. Very few of them have had that much weight on their left side at the same time.

I think trying to keep your head in one still spot in space can be worse then any head dropping if it's not right for you. Check out Hogan, Trevino, Moe Norman, Johnny Miller, Byron Nelson, Arnold Palmer... all with pronounced head drops in their swings. The list goes on and on and on. Johnny Miller always talked smack about Tigers head drop, and he did it as much as anyone. Compression is good if you know what to do with it.
