Why Was It Different...?

Remeber that shot Tiger hit outta the bunker.....when he had his heels up against the lip?

Long iron- draw, over the trees, with a left to right wind (so it took the draw outta it).

Tiger always talks about that shot like it was the holy grail....like it felt so much more pure than any other shot he's ever hit....

What the hell.....

I mean....this guy has hit his fair share of pure shots in his life no?

Why was this one was different tho?

I'm thinkin:

To me... it seemed like it was a PURE hands controlled pivot. Being that his stance was what it was, it forced him to control the whole swing with his hands. Hmmmm...he may wanna practice that swing and learn from it ( what the hell ,I guess we should too). It also forced him to swing within himself.
We are talking about the one he hit while playing with Ernie , correct ?

Ask Tiger Woods what the best shot he ever hit was and he'll answer the 3-iron out of a fairway bunker at the 2002 PGA Championship. He got into that awful predicament with a pull hook off the tee that found a fairway bunker. What he did to get out was nothing short of incredible. Standing 200 yards from the green, with an akward stance, a 30mph crosswind, and staring dead into the lip of the bunker, Tiger absolutely nuked a 3-iron which made the green. Tiger didn't win the PGA Championship that year, but the difficulty of this bunker shot under the pressure of a major warrants its position in the list.

Dunno....maybe he just was amazed that he pulled it off....but I dunno.
