Woods are sweet and irons of the heel.....

What am I missing here? Woods are in the middle of the face or a little toe-ish and every other iron is off the heel.

Usually, if you are one way (toe or heel) you will be that way with both woods and irons. You have completely stumped me.

My mentor, George Knudson (if you don't know, he was a stud ball striker in his day on Tour 60's) addressed all his shots on the toe of the club. I've been doing it all my life. He said it allowed for the stretching of his limbs with centrifugal force.

Give it a try.

heel-ly shots tend to be due to inside out problems. that would answer account for the irons of the heel. maybe if you are hitting the ball either very level or on the upswing with the driver then the path will start to get more outside in, accounting for centre or toey shots

I have had bad BPS for as long as I can remember. I just had not had this circumstance before. I think the answer for me is to pick a fix and stick with it. The carry has been the best fix for me and is the only thing that has worked. I just have had problems staying with it because it is very difficult for me to dial in the scoring clubs using it. I usually come in too steep and take too much turf or start pulling every SW and PW.

This game is hard!

Thanks for the replies.

BTW....

I am going to watch NHA 2 again. I wonder if you guys could help me with my short irons and the carry?????

Somebody (Jim?) correct me if I'm wrong, but the centre of percussion (sweetspot) on most irons is slightly towards the heel, while on woods the sweetspot seems to be more in the middle. I bought a set of Mizuno blades off a buddy of mine a long time ago who is/was a great player (mini tours) and the wear marks were towards the heel a little.

The first question should really be, is there a problem with your contact pattern? Are you $hanking your irons at all? If not, you may be hitting them right where you want them.

Not really shanking, but close. When I go bad these shots are weak blocks to the right.
