Man...I just was reading some of FGI's archives with some of your posts Brian, and some of Mike Finney's posts.

Good god those guys are losers. I don't usually come out all blunt like that and just call people down, but man...they tried so hard all the time to shut you down. Bunch of naysayers with no real substance behind their criticism really. They would shoot down everything you said without even thinking about it, and I got the impression that it's because they didn't like your style.

They remind me of a group of guys who never fight their own fights but just beat people down in a group like a bunch of pussies. Not many independent thinkers in that forum I think. Mostly followers from what I've read.

Man I can see why you got your own forum...I give you credit for taking that crap so long to make it to 993 posts.

FGI was the single best break of my whole teaching career....really.

At one point I was getting 20-30 emails a day from people who wanted help.

It showed me how I could make a big impact.

Thanks, FGI.

Wow u sure did take a lot of crap on those boards tho. Too many of those discussions transformed into a battle of wits and insults. It was like a war in there...from what I've read anyway. I think a lot of them just were rubbed the wrong way by you for some reason- they were not open to your instruction in the first place and then your style just seemed to make them want to attack you. I was just reading a bunch of posts on the old 'Driver Debate' etc...made me laugh and p'oed at the same time. You wore em down tho.

Single best? As in THE best? Wow cool. Guess that's how you got started into this forum too eh.
Well I guess that site must get a lot of hits...and for a while there you were definately the main attraction- for reasons good and bad...as they say tho- no such thing as bad publicity. And the main thing was that your information was way above everyone else's.

It really is apparent when you read that stuff.

I don't think they can even try to shoot you down anymore Brian. If they do it would just be sad really.

I am ALWAYS sneakin' up on people.

On FGI, but mostly....

in the GOLF WORLD.

They say, "Aw, he's just a driving range teacher."

But, 95% of my students are country clubers.

They say. "If he was any good, more good players would take lessons from him."

But, David Toms still wants my help.

They say, "He will FILL YOU with Gobbledee-gooook."

But, Some people I teach have never heard me say anything more complex than "flatten your left wrist at the top."

They told me, "Brian, you have to be more PC and tone it down, you are HURTING the Golfing Machine."

Really? Funny thing is before I came along the #1 most read TGMer on the web was David Laville, and Golfopinions was a big forum (HA!).

They said, "You CAN'T talk bad about the famous teachers."

But, I have the biggest single instructor's site on the web.

They do EVERYTHING in their power to KEEP ME from getting on the stage or on the TV or the TEE teaching next to the guys ranked higher than me on the BIG LISTS....

But...

I can out teach 'em all.

I can out TALK 'em all.

I can out write 'em all.

I can out produce 'em all.

and as sure as the sun comes up tomorrow....

....I'm coming.

Ready or not!

Well - say what you will, but I was one of those reading David's stuff. His posts did point me to right direction.

He gets Big Kudos from me.

I'm not knocking David, I know him very well, but, for crying out loud—he is not even a golf instructor—and he was the 'voice of TGM.'

Yes, I DID offer Golf Magazine $20,000 to do a teach off, debate or any teaching contest on live TV (or taped).

They turned it down.

;)

Brian, I got your message tonight, I will call you sometime tomorrow, not sure when. Hopefully we can find a way to get your name out up here in Indiana!

For a while, I thought Dave more of a SLAP guy when he described his actual swing, although he does vigorously defend TGM, especially when he goes at it with GHibbarish.

I think I was reading the tone a bit wrong - sorry.

Lotsa things look funny today, but back in the day... There sure is a lot of irony/humor in the TGM in the net history.

And really Brian - did you expect Golf Magazine to commit professional suicide for measly $20,000,- ? :)
