DIGGERDOG'S IMPACT HANDS DRILL
PATENT PENDING

(discovered one cold October night under a harvest moon shadow)
Perry, Ga
witnesses: black lab named Boy and cat named Eugene

I'll go first. Take a stance with either the sun, moon, or a bright light behind you, such that your shadow appears before you for monitoring purposes . Take a few easy swings, letting your pivot move your hands behind you. Your goal? Swing to impact KEEPING YOUR HANDS' Shadow on the right side of your body's shadow thru impact. You will have a set of the most impact perfect forward hands you have ever had. You have to imagine that if your hands' shadow appears on the target side of your shadow, you lose your life or have to go to a matinee with Pee Wee Herman. Keep the hand's shadow to the rear of your body's shadow..Ka-BOOM!!!! Get ready to see something special. It may have been discovered by someone already, but, if not, it is all mine.

Got one?

"Too much in and not enough up."

This is my title for people who have the current fad of flat backswings with underplane downswings. A lot of people talk about it however i've never heard it described how i say it or fix it how i fix it. However the way i fix it is a derivitave of Never Hook Again so it isn't totall mine.

i also have a 3 ball drill too:

1 ball = ball you're going to hit
2 ball = where you want your hands to end up (visual equivalent from the golfers view at impact)
3 ball = parallel to ball 1 so that you can judge how thin/fat/perfect you made contact passed on divot location

On his website under 'full swing tips' John Furze (GSED) has a shadow drill for the pivot. He's at www.golfurze.com.au

The gentleman who was lucky enough to get the lesson in the P&B stack and tilt video may like to refer to this when he hacks it so bad his brain starts to melt. BTW Do we get to hear from Eugene?

I have a few.

Accelleration Point. The part in the forward swing where the maximum effort is used to create accelleration. The later it is in the swing the stiffer the shaft needs to be from a baseline flex.

Leverage action: (can't say it's purely mine since it stems from some of what MDLT teaches). Similar to Jim's mention of too flat taking it back. The forearms roll early to put the clubhead in line with the direction they want to bring their hands and swing their left arm as they go back.

The 4 Jobs:
Environment - Get in the way.
Ball - Interact with the environment.
Club - Makes the ball fly in a specified way.
Golfer - Swing the club.

Since the first three jobs are covered by the $ I spent, all I have to do is job #4.

Left Thumb Fix: Not NEARLY enough people put the left thumb in the correct position. It should NOT be on top of the club at setup... it needs to be off to the side. (I know other instructors know this but not nearly enough FIX IT)

Double Close The Door: This is my version of the correct hip motion. Right hip acts as hinge to the door on the backswing, left hip re-establishes it's position and a little bit closer to the target on the "downswing", and finally the right hip slams shut to the target while the left hip now acts as a hinge.

And last that I'll mention is my Walk Through Drill. There are a few versions of this drill but none quite like mine.
