It is interesting to observe and speculate on Brian’s progression along the path of better understanding of all matters concerning golf.

If we compare with another TGM forum where there is no progression, simply turning around in tight circles, since there is claimed to be no other knowledge of interest beyond the yellow reference, it is refreshing to see Brian’s approach, yet also feeding from the same source.

There is seemingly only one basic fundamental left – ‘whatever works, works’. :D

It is a bit of a Zen paradox. It usually comes about when some has deeply gone into a specific subject, thinking, experimenting, understanding the implications, and doing so, naturally and progressively freeing himself from the rules governing the subject.

The yellow book is by the far the best and most complete golf instruction book ever written and may stay that way for a very long time.....

It is a prerequisite to get a level of higher understanding of how to make golfers better, as Brian and I discussed in a recent phone conversation - it is and always will be the foundation

when it is completely understood, sentence by sentence, concept by concept it opens the door for an even higher level of golf stroke engineering...

which is what the "matrix" will bring in the next decade

It is also interesting to note that while Brian freely challenges and questions concepts of the Yellow Book, he is still embraced warmly by Ben Doyle, Joe Daniels, et al.

I believe that Brian will always do best by the pupil and if somthing violates TGM principles yet works best for the pupil, so be it.

Michael,

HK’s somewhat pompous claim for his ideas to be scientific is however a bit too much. It has likely led some serious people to believe it to be the end of the road.

If you throw into the balance the way golfers really are, i.e., not golfing machines but rather irrational and emotional beings, you are more likely to end up closer to Brian’s ideas. :p
