Car Crash/Alford Golf Swings

I was involved in a serious car crash not long ago and my inability to swing properly contributed to my decision to depart the forums here. It's dangerous out there, two crashes in recent years have been enough...

Since the accident, it happens I have been challenged on this forum to show more swing videos/ball striking, etc. It has been very frustrating to be physically unable to. At present, I have a handful of damaged dics and a few other problems. Not good news for any golfer. I'm sure many here know how hard it is make a decent swing with even a stiff neck.

Recently, TGMer Denny Alberts and I became friends (he was once a critic), I appreicate Denny's honesty, he's a great guy IMHO. We both laughed at that one.

Several weeks ago, after a medical procedure Denny helped escort me out of the med. clinic due to the drousy effects of the general aesthetic. I thought this would be a fine time to hit a few golf balls under his critical eye. So, 30 minutes later we were at the Practice Tee and I hit full wedges for him as well as chips, pitches, and putts. Three days later I hit 5 iron shots for him, my first full swings in several months.

Denny doesn't like to post much, but I'm sure he would say I'm not shy about hitting shots for anyone irregardless of my physical condition, which frankly isn't very good. The docs have told me it's time to leave golf. I've got one more thing to do, first. It will take a little longer or agruably a lot longer, that's all. Until then, good luck to all and keep 'em in the short grass.

Impossible is Impossible

David,

I offer my sincere prayer for your full and complete recovery. As you noted in a post a while back, "Impossible is Impossible".

I have always looked forward to reading your golf book. Consider me as standing first in line to purchase a copy when it is published.

Best Regards.

Best of the best to you in your recovery. May it be swift and complete.

Keep in mind that the docs also told Ben Hogan that he would be very fortunate to ever walk normally again, much less play golf at a professional, competative level. Not only did he do so, but in the opinion of many, had his most successful years on the tour, especially in the majors. Take heart!

Hope you are able to play soon. Magic is right hogan wasn't supposed to be able to walk ( at least not well).

Wish you well.

George
