I think it is post-Rodgers. If I am not mistaken Rodgers taught Jack the technique of strenghtening the left hand and weakening his right in order to change his hand action through the ball, the idea being to have the shaft near vertical at impact i.e. minimal forward lean. I think this footage is from 82-83 or around about. I have used the technique with some success.

Classic Phil Rodgers pitching method. Watched him at a seniors tournament in early 90's, his short game was unbelievably good.

That is a flop shot release but you either need perfect timing or a fluffy lie to pull it off.

I think Phil's release is a bit more reliable but I don't think Jack had such a lofted club back in his day so he had to make his own loft.
