Help for a junior

My 9 year old son is out of school and back to golf. IMO he has a pretty nice swing notwithstanding the DNA I've provided him. I've done little by way of telling him what to do. Mostly I've encouraged him to hit it hard.

He's has always had a bit of a draw. Now its headed hard left or straight right. From my experience, I know he is probably swinging too far right and trying to close the face to compensate (correct?)

Any suggestions on what I might tell him? Yesterday I just told him to think about having the club travel more to the target and then left. I know I probably shouldn't coach him, but I'm suspect of the level of teaching out there. I just don't want him to get discouraged.

Thanks for any thoughts.
