Hip Pop - Cure for the reverse pivot?

Wanted to get some input on a theory I may have to cure my reverse pivot. Although I haven't hit many balls with this method, it is keeping me turning back correctly and not leaning forward. I am slightly pushing or popping my right hip back over my right leg before the swing then just start the swing turning around it. A guy I played with yesterday was doing it with his left hip toward the target which would be disasterous for me but kept him from swaying outside of his leg.

What do you guys think? If done correctly could it finally cure my reverse pivot?
