Kinetic Chain

Considering the graph from TPI and all of the current discussion concerning snapping the kinetic chain and increasing clubhead speed, I have a question. Are the body parts slowing down on purpose or due to the extension of the clubhead away from the center of rotation? I have been thinking about this and wondering if the slow down of the body parts is similar to when an ice skater is turning and they move their arms out to slow down the rotation rate and move them in to increase this rate. I am aware that it is not completely the same because the golfer is using muscular force to rotate, but maybe the same amount of muscular force cannot keep the same rotation rate as the clubhead moves away from the body. Just curious and thought this might be worthy of discussion.
