order of importance?

I have always understood, clubface control or lack of it, effects path, then proper impact alignments allow for crisp contact and ball compression.

There are always lots of posts on trigger delay (lag). A number of people, I think including Homer Kelly have said trigger delay is the "secret" to good ball striking.

If you had to order their importance, in what order would you place them?

clubface control
path
plane
pivot
impact alignments
trigger delay

Secrets.

Homer Kelley never thought trigger delay was the secret. He thought lag pressure was the secret.

It is the secret to solid contact, and somewhat to "uumph."

But...it won't make the ball fly "where you are looking." Ask Michael Finney.

I will make this list in two versions.

Version #1 - For golfers trying to get to the mid-80's

Version #2 - For golfers trying to get to scratch and below

Here ya go:

BRIAN'S ORDER OF IMPORTANCE for golfers trying to get to the mid-80's

1. plane
2. path
3. pivot
4. clubface control
5. impact alignments
6. trigger delay

BRIAN'S ORDER OF IMPORTANCE for golfers trying to get to to scratch and below

1. path
2. clubface control
3. pivot
4. plane
5. impact alignments
6. trigger delay

Those 6 under the "scratch and below" list are the key "whats", what would you say are the key "hows" that deliver the "whats"? For example, I think that educated hands is a key how for #2,#3 and #6

Neat stuff.

BTW I think PATH is "the line you burn in the ground if a laser is attached to your shaft."

PLANE is the the clubhead orbit when looking at a swing DTL.....i.e. the pitch on a roof.....i.e. SINGLE SHIFT. (in TGM) It will also have to do with how this clubhead orbit relates to benchmarks such as the TSP and Elbow Plane.

For sure correct me if I'm wrong BTW peeps.
