Could someone explain what horizontal hinging is? Also does someone have to turn the hands going back in the backswing? Why can't a swinger use single action wrist action?

Thanks Jerry!

Could someone explain what horizontal hinging is?

The score lines on the face staying vertical to the ground from impact to the follow through.

If the left hand is vertical, it does the same thing.

There is longer clubhead travel concerns, and pivot and left should issues.

If you let the club alone, it will very closely align this way.

But the golfer who thinks he can "monitor" it precisely at 125+mph is high.

It is a FULL ROLL procedure of the clubface, without over-roll or throw-away.

Also does someone have to turn the hands going back in the backswing?

They don't.

Why can't a swinger use single action wrist action?

They can.

I just realized why at times I was more confused than I should have been a few years ago.

Sorting through all these definitions and supposed "rules" (or at least recommendations) within the "literalist" "TGM Universe" man..........

.........and especially when the definitions themselves aren't even clear depending on who you ask. Yeeeesh.

Just find a set of moves that equals a golf swing that works for you and do it regardless of what it's termed as in TGM. Find out about that stuff later or separately or when you really need it.

BTW this isn't really directed at you jerry. Just talking. You just reminded me of how I used to be is all. I love TGM and it all has it's place but be careful with the definitions man.

what are you talking about ?

Pretty much exactly that sir.

You just made me remember/realize something is all. Had a small (merely a Level 1) epifany. Didn't really mean to direct it at you or offend or attack or preach to you even if I ended up doing that. (or if it came off that way) If anything's to "blame" it's golf instruction.

Just thinking out loud pretty much.

Precisely why I (and I'm sure others) enjoy your posts :).

And jerry, I think what birdieman is saying is that your questions about what components can (or "are supposed to") work with others are ones that he himself asked multiple times back a year or so ago. He's just relating his experiences in his own "stream of conciousness" way ;).
