knee flex

Hi all , this is my first post in a golf forum, so be gentle ..ok :)

I came across a video clip on Utube, it was one of Brian Manzella’s , so I did a search and ended up here, found the other 7 clips, and really enjoyed watching them and listening to Brian, So I bought the Movie, and really enjoyed that, so here comes my Question !!
First a bit about me and my golf, just turned 60 and have been playing on and off since I was about 40, so a late starter  but now I am serious about golf and want to play the best I can,
I am playing off 18 ….just! hit the ball nicely don’t really slice or hook , push and pull sometimes, but don’t get it out very far ,

Ok, in the section Forearm takeaway V Shoulder takeaway, Brian talks about * a sharp hip turn which could make your back leg straighten * I have been really focusing on keeping the damn thing flexed !! and this is really hard for me as my right leg is a little shorter than the left ! so I have tried all ways to keep a flexed right knee, so given that… when I address the ball with a nice flexed left knee my right leg is almost straight, so what feeling should I have on the backswing, at the mo my feeling is get a good shoulder turn without collapsing my right leg, hope this makes sense !!!

Cheers , Ray

Ray,
On a full swing, your weight will tend to feel towards the heel of your right foot..and you may feel you are pivoting around the top of your right femur bone. Allow the leg to straighten (but not locked at the knee) if it helps you maintain your height, and it probably will with your short leg...

Thanks puttmad,
I will try this tomorrow at the range...if I get time , I have just had a few swings in the back yard, and it feels ok, will let you know how it goes with a golf ball ;)

Plus there was a thread that had a link to another site that discussed creating a 'gap' with the hips on the backswing. i.e. the right hip pocket goes to the target. Maybe someone can fill that link in for you.
