grip question

when i grip the club, my right index finger does not produce a noticeable gap between it and my right middle finger. it is still behind the grip, but, unlike brian shows in NSA, there is no gap. is this a problem?

in NSA brian shows how, after doing the left hand, you hook the middle two fingers of the right hand. however, i have always hooked the index, middle and ring finger of the right hand. i can still feel pressure on it, so thats ok, i just wondered, seen as my grip is just about the only thing that has ever stayed constant in my entire golfing career lol

thanks

Extending the right index finger down the shaft really helps you to monitor PP#3 and to learn the feel of lagging the sweetspot. For me, if I keep my right index finger right next to (in contact with) my right middle finger, then I don't have the same feel of lagging the sweetspot.

To clarify, you say that you 'still feel pressure on it', but the key question would be whether that is grip pressure (caused by you squeezing the club with the hand) or the pressure caused by lagging the sweetspot? In other words, do you feel that weight on PP#3 when you transition from backswing to downswing? If so, it's probably not worth changing anything. If not, you might want to try out Brian's recommendations.

It seems that you have a strong grip - the weaker the grip is, the easier is to form a trigger finger.

Cheers

when i say 'feel pressure' its not through grip pressure, it is the sweetspot, i think

Well, I hope someone more knowledgeable will correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me if you can monitor PP#3 and lag the sweetspot with a neutral grip, then there's no big reason to make a major change (and I'd say a grip change is always major). Just my 2p.
