I have unfortunately herniated a cervical disc C4/C5 and may not fully recover, at present surgery not an option. Especially at 32 years old....

I may not regain the use of my left supra spinatus muscle.

Any anatomy buffs know if I can ever play to a high standard again?

This seems a pretty important a muscle to me

Oh no. I feel for you buddy. (for real)

I know nothing about this stuff but that sounds tough.

Good luck.

(soy milk?)

I hope you find away to enjoy the game. I wouldn't be surprised if you found an easier way outside of TGM, if things are really bad.

Best of luck!

Birdie_man stop offering innocent people soy milk!!! Save that poison for the taliban.

Try getting in touch with this bloke. He is a retired Physician and a golf nut.

I'm unfortunately finishing like Dr. Middlrcoff, piercing high straight to tight draw, and an aching back. I'm having trouble sleeping because of the pain. I haven't had golf related back pain in 5 yrs...

I've experimented with the following to save my back:

A reverse k type setup where I start sitting into a lot of axis tilt. This works very well, and my ball flight is a tad lower, but not too bad.

Body action similar to what the single axis guys use... More of a Dr. K type body action where your feet stay planted all the way to finish. I roll so hard through impact that the back of my left hand is facing the ground and so is my clubface... The ball cuts throught the air, but is too low. I'm trying to hit the ball higher this season, so that I can hold more greens.

My neck/shoulders have been shaky for a while...

I'm thinking of trying a swing with less "left side stretch" (and strain) through impact. (through impact when I tilt I really feel that stretch up my left side and up the side of my neck)

i.e. maybe moving away from my beloved "left shoulder up" if I absolutely have to.

Gonna try leading with the hips in the downswing.....really making sure I OPEN em. This is all theory right now though.

Once again- good luck buddy. (welshdentist)

Thanks for the help guys. I'm not in pain, just lost the use of the supra spinatus muscle (all part of rotor cuff I believe). Pesky thing seems quite useful.
