what do you guys use to stay in sync?

This happens to me plenty, mainly with (or maybe just that much more noticeable with) the driver; hips out race my arms/shoulders (leading to some sort of a slice, then in an effort to correct this, I don't pivot as much and then my arms/shoulders outrace my pivot (leading to some kind of wicked shot that goes left).

It's really a vicious circle. I don't know if this is considered rhythm, timing, synchronization or what, but there has to be ONE thing to focus on that keeps all of this from continuing. Any ideas?

Thanks,
p

I use my feet to time the swing. See 7-17 of the yellow book. Brian's thought is step on the right foot to start the backswing, step on left to start the downswing. Once I followed this, as he shows in the soft draw pattern, it helped every aspect of my swing. If I time the swing with my feet, my hips do not seem to race ahead, which has always been an issue.

Have you seen on video what you are describing or u just going off instinct?

I'd say I'm 95% sure that when I go left it's because of what I described (all arms with little or no pivot). I'm less sure of what's causing the "rights", even though I know it's either an open clubface and/or an outside-in swing path. If it goes straight right after impact, then it's an inside-out path. Correct?

Thanks,
