We know you've been working hard lately (new D-plane research project, new videos, website redesign)--who knows? You'll tell us when you tell us. As I train for the marathon (haven't been hitting too many lately), I've had lots of time to think.

So here goes, one question, no right or wrong answers, just an opinion: Neil Peart or Stewart Copeland?

PS, Bonham (although impressive) is not part of this because I think, even I (not a real drummer), could bring the beat with JP and JPJ leading the charge.

If anybody thinks Stewart Copeland can even hang in the same room with Neil Peart should have a lobotomy. But what do you think, Brian?

Agreed. Much more of a well rounded musician, Unless you always like it rough and crass. I just called a drummer a musician..now that is high praise for me.;)

Both outstanding pro drumers with different styles. It is like Phil and VJ.

I'm with vjsinger - oops - does that show my age? Oh and Omar Hakim - so I like a bit of funk - doesn't make me a bad person! Anyway, if these guys could've played guitar we wouldn't have had to listen to those interminable drum solos!

Bonham must be included. Light and shade; power and grace. He may not have worked the ball too often. He just hit fairways and greens ....all the time. Stewart Copeland couldn't caddie for Bonham.

Both are great drummers, but Copeland played a lot of synchpated beats, which are difficult. Peary was an innovator as well, especially with his double bass set and speed pedals. Overall, Copeland is much more accomplished musician -- check all the scores he's worked on.

Not old school but since Zeplin was mentioned, Lars is a great drummer!!!
