I rewatched Confessions of a former flipper and trying to implement more lag in my swing.

Irons have improved dramatically.More distance and a slight draw.Chipping has also gone to a new level.

Driver has gotten terrible.

Problem is I'm hitting high hooks.The clubface contact is so high on the face I'm close to putting a skymark on the club with not much distance at all.

Any ideas?

Tee it down some first. You may be swinging a little too right if you know what I mean, happens to me all the time.

Are you hovering the driver off the ground? Im pretty sure bman prefers this and it improved my driving (no mis hits). If you ground your driver put the ball out toward the toe. Or maybe your just teeing it too high.

If you address the ball and hover the club head sweetspot directly behind it then lower the club head, the toe sits just behind the ball.

Maybe my post was confusing. This is what I was trying to say. I have better shots hovering the club on the sweetspot though. I think bman prefers both ways. If you dont want to hover on sweetstop just lower the club and the ball will be out towards the toe.

So teeing it lower and moving ball back in stance doesn't make sense to me.

It sounds like you you are too steep and don't have enough axis tilt; confessions works well for both the irons and the driver but you need to make sure you have enough axis tilt with the driver (long irons too) to shallow our your bath enough.

Teeing it lower will assuredly stop you "dinging" the ball on the top line of your club face.

Start there; then, having ruled out teeing the ball too high, the rest is a simple process of deduction and hitting down on the ball should prove to be the least of your problems. Simple solutions are often the most effective and lasting.

For example, tee the ball at your usual height and address it in your usual position then just check the top line of your club face in relation to the teed up ball. My bet is that most of the ball will be above the top line of your club face. No more than half of the ball, and less than that preferably, should be above the top line of the club head. Why would it need to be?

However, this stuff is all subjective and personal to your particular swing and you will need to experiment to find out what works best for you.

Update

So, Friday after work I decide to go hit balls to work on the driver.

I get there and forgot to put my clubs in the car.What a dummy!

So I ask if I can use a demo driver. I was a little nervous because I don't want to hack a club that is not mine.I don't want to ding my club either.I mean I've been as low as a 7.1 handicap and I'm worrying about putting a skymark on the club.

Well I hit this TM R7 and I hit it so solid and right in the center of the clubface I bought it right on the spot.

It has the Proforce V2 stiff shaft and my old driver Ping had the Green NV regular.I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

It may be new-clubitis. Only time will tell, hope everything works out.

Maybe your swing speed was a little too high for that reg shaft?
