Last Friday night I was reading the forum and read Jim Kobylinski's post (within Curtis76's thread regarding teaching his wife) about practicing his bunker play after a quick review of Over and Out. Now I've been meaning to buy Over and Out for a while and so that night I did.
On Saturday morning I had time to watch about 10 minutes of it before I had to play a knock-out match at my club. I've known my opponent for years, we have numerous mutual friends, but loathe each other. So, I really wanted to win.
On the 17th (par 3 193 yards) I'm one up, but had lost the previous two holes. He puts his tee shot to about 20 foot and says "that was a bit lucky, cos I didn't catch it right". So, using the swing thought "I hope you get k**b rot you smug b*****d", I smother my shot into the front left bunker.
This leaves me with a 35 yard bunker shot over a raised lip, across the length of the green, slightly uphill at the end. Then I remember Over and Out and Brian's explanation that when using his preferred method there's a way to get more distance. It made sense when he said it and now was a good time to try it. Result - put it to nine inches. My opponent, clearly rattled, hit a horrible pull of a put, leaving him a 7 footer which he left two foot short - game over.
$7.99, a pittance to pay for such joy. Bman does it again. Thanks.
