First time posting. Love the forum. Just got SD...no problem streaming on my macbook but not sure how to actually download it in order to have it on my hardrive...any ideas out there....also, I plan to take a lesson from Brian...I am about a 5 handicap and need to improve my stroke pattern...I will have to get the most bang for my buck...so, how many hours should my first lesson be? Three? Maybe more..maybe less??? Thoughts please:confused:

ok....well, I figured out what needed to be done to download it to my mac. However, no one has answered my q about taking lesssons from Brian. Not if I should, but how many hours at the first lesson???

It depends,Mr.J. Brian may be able to fix you in 15 minutes or it may take longer. He might look at your swing and send you to the putting green. Or he may look at your swing, hand you a tennis racquet and give you your money back.
In today's economy, book one lesson and see where it goes from there.

If you want the best bang for you buck you should do the 2day lesson. I did it back in March and have went from an 11 handicap to a 5. You get to play at a really badass course while getting a playing lesson and get an additional 4 hours of private instruction. You have to at least spend 1 full hour if not more on your shortgame. Brian is phenominal with this. This is what worked for me.

Do a minimum of 2 hours I'd say. If I was going to do 8 hours, I'd want it broken up some on different days. Maybe you can do 2 hr one day and 2 hr the next.

I think the decision may depend on how much you can absorb and still make sense of and do when you get back to your home area. Ask Brian himself for his opinion based on where you are at and what you want to do.

At least two hours

I took an hour lesson on Monday and wished I had signed up for two. The second hour could have been some short game stuff. It would have been nice to try my changes in front of Brian with a 20-30 yard pitch shot. For me, swinging at a slower speed helps me take in/feel everything when making a swing adjustment. Next time will be two hours for sure!

Two hours is a sizeable time block and gives you enough time to get input on full swing and short game. As someone who lives out-of-town and goes for lessons sort of twice a year in the last couple years, that's what I would do.

Hopefully he doesnt hand you the tennis raquet...lol

that would be quite embarrasing I suspect. Looking for more input...perhaps I should've started a thread just asking that question

Here's my take on it. Unless you live in Louisville, or New Orleans you have some travel cost and probably and overnight stay. Think you would want to maximize your opportunity. You are a 5 handicap. Your lesson is going to be big time different that a hacker lesson.

I was originally scheduled for a 3 hour session, but had to change to 2 hours for business reasons. I'm a 10 to 12. I think 1 hour would have been a rush. Two hours was fine, and we fit in some short game at the end.

If it were me, I would try to do the lesson in conjunction with a Trackman session. I know you can do that in Louisville, not sure about New Orleans.

Best thing to do would be pick up the phone and call Brian.
