Blows my mind to learn at the end that this a Pro. Really contrived heel lift.
For ever, and ever the gospel was that a little heel lift is fine if the pivot pulls the heel up. I have never heard anyone say that you should purposely lift it.

Michael Breed just said I shouldn't lift my heel at. I guess we have a definative answer now; we can put this baby to bed. According to Mike, I should pull my right leg back to close my hips and put the ball further back in my stance. No more lifted heel! Thanks GOLF FIX!

Lawrie hasn't always done that, has he?

It does look contrived -- in the sense he seems to be doing it beyond what is needed to complete his backswing -- but maybe it helps him slow down his transition or maybe emphasizing it that way helps insure he actually does it?

If it gets him to his right side with a steady head and no sway then why not?

Not just a pro - a major champion no less...

I think I'll give this a try on the range tomorrow!
