Impact hand location

Hi just a quick one Impact hand location/Aiming point. I know your eyes are on the ball and the mind is in your hands but should you be able to see your hands at impact through peripheral vision. I can't see how else you will know they have achieved the correct impact hand location unless you view it on video.

Can someone clarify pls.

Secondly in Manzella 5 Brian says the lower body does not unwind whilst the upper body is still turning backwards. Most books state it does. I am with Brian but my friend refuses to accept this.

Simple solution to the unwinding thing, Matt, ask your doubting friend to show you how its done.
It is @#$$%^& impossible to rotate your hips counter clockwise to your shoulders.

That whole "theory" is spawned by the illusion caused by the lagging clubhead in transition seeming to be going backwards whilst the downstroke was being initiated.

Honestly, my club is whipping through there so fast i'm not even sure i look at my impact hand location. Where i DO LOOK is at setup and i program that location into my computer :)

Can you elaborate on this idea? I'm a flipper who is trying to get rid of the flip. Is a "hands at impact" image a good one to cultivate to help eliminate the flip?

Also, in playing with this idea in my front yard, I came across a completly different feeling. From the top of the downswing, I felt as though I was pulling my hands in closer to my body. This seemed to help with swinging left, which seemed to help with forward lean. Taking the divot felt much more "solid." In my normal swing, I seem to swing right and flip to square the club, and impact always feels like a glancing blow.

Am I getting closer, or is all of this to vague?

Or on TrackMan (Dynamic Loft).

There is "taking out the slack" that occurs—the X factor stretch—that is VERY SEPARATE from the CLUB going back and the body starting down argument.

We will settle this once and for all at the 1ST ANNUAL MANZELLA GOLF SWING SYMPOSIUM on October 11th in PHX.

It helps some folks.

You are getting closer.

At some point, you swing too far to the right to even make contact with the little pill.

As a former (sometimes current) flipper, I can say that, for me at least, the WORST way to try to get rid of the flip was by consciously trying to do things with my hands. I was REALLY good at flipping it, so if my mind was on my hands, that's what they'd usually do.

Much better to:
A) give yourself a manzella neutral grip so you can learn to monitor the clubface.
B) hit it with your pivot! If you hit it with your pivot, you won't flip.

One thing I work on everyday is towel swings and grip pressure points. I haven't found, or thought of a better way to train the pivot other than doing towel swings at my living room couch. And when I have a slip in the ball striking, happened this past week, I monitor the pressure points in my hands..particularly #2 and #3. I also dig the TALY device and Martin's Tour Striker. I just ordered the pro version this week.

So I went by the course today to try out this new feeling of getting my hands closer to my body on the downswing. I just did about a half hour of pitching and chipping and there was a world of difference in ball flight, impact feel, and results. Feeling the hands allowed me to swing left and I'm sure there was some foward shaft lean.

As someone who has been flipping for 16 years, it was exciting to get a new impact feeling. I can't wait to get to the range for some punch/wedge shots.
