Since the golfswing begins from the ground up, not only must you control your feet, you must have the correct feel in your feet!

Have you improved you feet 'feel' with any special brand of socks?

Did you improve your golfswing with a new pair of shoes?

How tight do you lace your shoes and do you use inserts?

Do you treat your feet in any way to improve your foot action ... lotions, vaseline, powders, corn pads???

(Non-scientific discussion only, please.)

I play my best in an old pair of greenjoys with very thin, flat soles. I find the thicker the sole, especially in the heel, the worse I swing.

I believe the golfswing begins in/from the grey mushy thing( inside that hard thing on top of your neck) called a brain, which would be from the top down. ;)

Not surprising. Biomechanical studies have shown that a heel-wedge is better than a traditional platform-heel.

You mean like those "earth" shoes??

wikipedia: Earth shoes were an unconventional style of shoe invented in the 1970s in Scandinavia: unlike other shoes, the soles were thick and the heels were thin (Negative Heel Technology), so wearing them one walked heel-downward. The advertisements said that it was like walking on the beach, where one's footprints are this way.

I know that the USGA & RA banned instep wedges that canted the feet inward to provide a lateral foundation within the shoes.

Not exactly sure. The primary author of the paper just mentioned that a heel-wedge would be better than a heel-platform. No pictures or further details were said.
