A Random Scotty Cameron/Tiger Woods Thought....

Isn't it ironic...now that Tiger Woods not only has not won a tournament in a long time...and also he has changed putters....that Scotty Cameron putter sales are way down? Because Woods played this putter, every 25 handicapper in America couldn't wait to drop 300 clams on one. A friend of mine who manages a golf shop said Cameron sales are very much down. Maybe these disillusioned people will now actually invest in a good FIT putter such as Edel or the like.

Not sure I'd use one golf shop as a factual representation of total Cameron sales. I have to believe the economy has had some effect on high-end putter sales. Moving into a $900 Edel hardly seems like a logical substitute. Perfectly fitted or not, the 85 percentile golfer probably doesn't recognize the need or have the money for it.

Tiger is turning into an average putter and using a Nike will have little effect.

All you need for a putter is a 3/4" x 3/4" x 4" piece of steel bar with a 3/8" hole drilled at say 20º tilt and then shove in any decent putter shaft with a grip that feels comfy ... costing no more than $20 ... or just find any old putter in the barrel like a bullseye or any heel-shafted blade.

Gearhead actually believe that putting magic is engineered and machined into a virgin block of 303 SS and are willing to shell out $300+ to own that toy. If you really want to feel like Tiger, buy his clothes and shoes too.

Golf equipment is such a SCAM ... LOL

I could never believe that Cameron, or Nike for that matter, never made a production replica of Tiger's Newport 2 with the sight dot instead of the line. Crazy.

Seeing Tiger with another putter is just one more indication that an era has ended.
