All this assumes he really is injured and wasn't just looking for an excuse to miss this week's event. It's not like he hasn't done it before. In fact I'm kind of hoping he's faking, given that his game was just starting to come around.

I don't think steroids help a golf swing, but they let you work out longer and harder. I don't know if they improve hand eye, but somebody taking steroids would probably be fresher on the weekend of a tournament.

Tiger's run seems a lot like, Bonds, McGuire, Lance Armstrong etc. The golf media, pga tour and other players seem to have given him a pass on this one.

When did the tour start testing?

And he was a very skinny kid the first couple years in the bigs.
hmm

Take a look at pictures of Phil and Ernie when they were teenagers. They were skinny kids too. They just choose to workout with Five Guys. Men get bigger in their early twenties. If you workout there can be benefits

Right, I knew this but the article doesn't say and we don't seem to know in general whether or not the therapy was done intramuscularly.
Do WADA do the testing for the PGA Tour?

If Tiger played golf in the olympics it may become an issue.
If Tiger's in violation of WADA protocol I'm not sure what effect that would have on his PGA Tour exemption status. Regardless, if he were in violation of WADA protocol it would be an interesting development/occurence considering the gravitas that body has (arguably undeservedly--See "Bigger, Stronger, Faster*"-->Bigger, Stronger, Faster* - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

Experience

As someone who has dabbled and been around the "juice" for many years, there is nothing about Tigers physique that leads me to the conclusion that he is on steroids....NOTHING.

To be honest, the bigger question for me wasn't whether or not he was using anabolic steroids but whether or not he was using HGH. HGH would seem to be a bigger need for him than anabolic steroids. Then again need doesn't imply use. Somehow the Nike guys avoid getting caught. Oh, corporate conspiracy....

If any golfer got caught using PEDs on tour do you think the tour would announce it publicly and risk losing millions in sponsorship money? Moreover with the vast wealth that tour pros have they could win an appeal in court fairly easily I would think.

I agree; with the time and money has Tiger can make the gains he has fairly easily, with his money he could get the best weightlifting and nutritional support money can buy, and he could easily afford all the legal recovery measures to speed up recovery from his weight training.

Btw does anybody know what he weighs now?

Have you ever seen someone on HGH? Until I see Tigers brow protruding and his elbows growing, I wouldn't give it much thought.

As far as PED's in golf, they may exist, but why? In physical sports like football, strength, speed and most important, recovery are critical. I just don't see it in golf.

I don't think everyone who uses HGH or steroids ends up looking like a caveman. Abusing them could lead to those side effects but their use has become so widespread that those using them now do so carefully enough not to suffer from side effects. Many athletes use HGH to recover from injury quicker not just to gain mass muscle. Look at Andy Pettitte. No protruding skull or bulging biceps there.

I think if it was was Tiger or Phil that got caught, there would be a huge cover-up by Finchem and Co. If it was Rory Sabbatini, he gets thrown under the bus.

While there is no evidence of PED use in Tiger Woods (other than using a sketchy Canadian doctor with links to supplying HGH to professional athletes) lets not kid ourselves. Stop saying PED's don't help golfers. They help everyone...but they are illegal and shouldn't be used.

Fact: they build muscle and create strength-the courses on the PGA Tour are getting longer and longer. It's a game for athletes now.
Fact: HGH provides metabolic benefits by burning body fat so that athletes can retain muscle mass and have low body fat. Athletes are vain and very, very marketable.
Fact: HGH has an anti-catabolic effect that allows for quicker recovery from intense workouts. Tiger travels full-time with his own trainer and works out alone and in private. His workouts are the stuff of legends.

Stop saying "He's not the cheating type." What's the cheating type? Highly competitive professional athletes with enormous egos looking for any advantage they can find. If you are waiting for the smoking gun, keep waiting. Just don't be naive.
