Half swing vs Full Swing

It would be different for everyone, no?

this is one thing i don't understand. If your takeaway is so that your right arm is higher than your left, how do you do a half swing? Your club face is so closed and you would have to try really hard to open the club face on the downswing and then close it again. Does that mean you have to open the club face sooner for a half swing?

I would also say it's going to be different for each person. In my case I feel like I have a good bit of symmetry between backswing and downswing so a half swing feels just like that - a half swing. Half the body motion, half the arm action, half the swing length, etc. I don't think I have a significantly different looking halfway back vs halfway down position.

How would Rickie Fowler do his half swing?

Like this?

Rickie Fowler - YouTube

Looks more "conventional" than his driver swing, but I'm no Rickie Fowler.
ya...he let the left arm rotate faster as oppose of a full swing.

that was my question. thanks guys

The reason I'm asking is because I lost my 52 degree wedge, and I'm using half pitching wedge now to get on the green when it's around 110 yardage.

Yes, although his tempo looks similar to his full swing.

Nothing wrong with being forced into working on some partial shots while you look for your GW. Look at it as a chance to work on the partial shots - especially in the sub-140 range. Too many players like to go full-bore when they might be better served going 3/4. Less spin and more control.
