head and pivot

Sup guys I noticed something tonight with my pivot and head depending on how close I stand to the ball
When i feel like im standing the normal distance from the ball my head gets in the way on my backswing and the route for my shoulders isnt as free as i would like. It also causes my whole torso to lean to the left just a hair at the top of my pivot. Almost a slight reverse pivot!

Now if i stand what feels super close to the ball like Jim Furik does my head does not get in the way at all. Also at the top i feel more behind the ball and free!
Here is a video of my pivot , the first swing is standing normal and the 2nd is super close to the ball.

IS this natural or is there any way to stand my regular distance from the ball without my head getting in the way?

Sit in a chair.

With your back flush on the chair-back, keep that back position and straighten up so you are not leaning backward.

Now, lean left, enough that if you turn your head to the left, you'll look at the ground.

That is sort of a top of the backswing position.

Unless you are built like Gumby, your head will be TO THE RIGHT of your shirt seam.

Now, can take your left arm—with your back in the same orientation, and stretch it to the top of a backswing.

Your head will still be to the right of the shirt seam.

Don't try to to lift your head and "turtle" it on the other side of the seam.

I had the same problem that my chin was getting in the way of my left shoulder which caused me to lift up on top of the backswing. I 'solved' it by keeping my chin a bit higher (which means I don't look directly at the ball anymore). If I understand you correctly the better way would be to move the head slightly to the right in the backswing?

Thanks
