that some instructors talk about level hip turn? in the set up we bend from the hips so the hips have primary axis tilt, well they rotate on this axis. So why do some say level hip turn or hips are level?

By change the amount of knee bend in the swing you can effect how level the hips are.

what about the levellness from front to back? the hips have a front, back, left side and right side. for a right handed golfer at the top of the backswing the back of the right hip should be highest and the front left hip should be lowest, then at impact, and beyond, the back of the left hip should be highest and front of the right hip should be lowest. Correct or not? when I think of the term level hips the thought comes to mind of all four corners of the hips being level, which if they were level then the would be a bend in the spine somwhere between the hips and upper back.

Unless you have a strange setup with a lot of knee flex, your hips always tilt toward the ball (if you are viewing down the target line). Hip tilt (viewing face on) during the swing is affected by either NOT straightening the knees (no tilt) or straightening them (tilt) during the back and through swing.

Jim, is this something you would recommend?

Personally i don't worry about it, i was talking to brian in orlando about how much knee bend Sabbatini setup with and why he did it. Don't remember the whole reason but it was something along the lines it changes the angle of the hip turn which will in turn create some move you want to make into the ball.

Personally i'm not a fan of right knee anchor, let it straighten (a little).
