Ok Experts I Need Help.

I have been working on swinging/hitting, more neutral grip, pivot, and lag since August, and from Sept/November and most of Dec have never hit it better, straighter and lower.

Last round, and last 2 trips to the range I have experienced:

1. Several fat shots,
2. Way too open clubface
3. Way too closed clubface
4. I even hit a shank yesterday for the first time since I can remember!
5. I feel like I am flipping again

What is going on? What should I look at? I am trying to get a video posted, but may have to wait until this weekend. Any help is appreciated.

Well if you are flipping it and have open/closed clubface issues, we probably need to see the swing vid.

I am not sure if I'm truely considered an "expert" on this website... but my hunch and experience thinks there is something going on in your setup. Probably too close to the ball.

You've probably drifted back to flipping. Try to remember the actions or thoughts that got you out of flipping. I just went thru this and realized I crept back into a sweep release with probably alot of leakage. Tonight I fired those hands at the ball and bingo, divots past the ball with that backspin sizzle. If the hands lead into the ball you can't hit it fat unless you have a reverse pivot...which I also get from time to time.:(

I am experiencing the same issues

Every shot goes left of left....pulls and pull hooks
A lot more fat shots followed by some thin ones

I got some stuff worked out, basically the sway was creeping back in a little bit and I guess I have let some throwaway back in too. I just can't get my right shoulder down plane consistently. I have done the fiddle drill till I'm blue in the face but I can feel in a real swing that right shoulder go more out than down. Why won't I do what I know to do? I'm frustrated.

If you want your right shoulder to go under more, rather than out, try this swing thought.
As you start down concentrate on trying to make the bottom of your right ribcage touch the top of your hip bone, i.e. really compress the muscles on the right-rear quarter of your torso.

Doing this move automatically keeps your head behind the ball at impact and your right shoulder will travel more steeply to impact, then go upwards immediately after impact, rather than around...

It sounds obvious but one more thought is hit the inside quadrant of the ball. If your body knows it has to get to the inside of the ball your hips might just bump automatically so that your right shoulder drops.

Thanks for the replies guys, it is good to know that I am not alone in my struggles. I was hitting it so good 4-5 weeks ago I even posted a thread on it, and since then it has been down hill.

I have been sifting through, Never Hook Again and Confessions trying to get figured out.
