A Note to all about improving - BASIC MOTION

As a non-teacher, just learning participant...

here's what I know.....after lessons with Brian I was chipping and pitching damn well.

During the last couple of weeks, I couldn't chip worth a darn. It was also bleeding over into my full swings.

This thread came around and Brian mentioned the "flipper" video. What a game changer. It took me 3 swings after watching flipper to get it back. I had stopped using any pivot on chips and pitches and got out of sync trying to do it mostly swinging arms. All kinds of inconsistencies.

I am so amazed how accurate I can be when I just learn to use the pivot, even on small chips.

I've GOT to start looking at all the BM videos I have stashed on a more regular basis.

I thought I was the only one who drew a mental block with chipping sometimes. Glad I am not alone. I get like that all the time. Basically, I find trying to chip the ball hard and still finish like Brian's old logo works like magic.

Get the video...

It really isn't if you work everything correctly. It comes down to where the hands are going and the pivot to get them there.

I'd have to write a book ....

Bill, could you explain how you do it?

I'll let the experts see if they can do a better job of condensing. I would recommend the video. It's 20.00 WELL spent.

Today is day two of implementing. Actually, I was doing this stuff before but, as a newby to the process....it was easy to lose after a couple of months. Watching the video again and 3 swings and BAM....chipping, pitching and really irons over all went to a different level. I was lost before reviewing the vid again.

Chipping is king

I shot my best round ever for 9 holes the other night - a 37

It consisted of 5 up and downs and 12 putts.

Before TGM and MGA help I couldn't even break 50.........

proof is in the pudding........

BTW Brian, I was "even" after 8 holes, hit a superb drive and then skulled a short, 90 yard SW over the green and took a 6. It was a very "fluffy" and I didn't want to pop it up - I didn't

The game of golf is sooooo much more fun when you know you have at least a chance to play well..........I never had that chance in the pre-TGM life

Congrats

Rbaum:

Congrats on your round. When we played I could see it is not a question of if, but a question of when you break 80.

Joeparr....its called "confession of a former flipper"

Bill, I have most of Brians video`s I thought you mite of have one just on chipping and pitching.

my comments in this thread are referring a post from brian where I had asked Mike Jacobs (xplosivegolf) to post a video of his non-overacceleration chipping and pitching method. Brian responded that the "flipper" video covered it.

I was just posting my results after watching flipper again.
