the whole world really isn't ready for LCT..I just played with a pro from the asian tour and he really noticed the LCT..I was playing well and the shots were all quite good..My LCT loooked horrible to this pro and he couldn't quit commenting on how My swing would be soo much better without the LCT...It's funny how people who don't understand evalute the swing...:D ..whenever someone asks who my pro is I always say it's the Italian stallion...Manzelli...:p

Is he a random sweeper???

If he does not appreciate lagging clubhead takeaway ( which for me accentuates lag pressure when it goes from zero to something really quickly)... then i suspect he does not feel much lag pressure...

Ask him about his loading action...
random sweep has lag pressure coming on slow and steady and it does not encourage recognition of lag pressure... ask him about his PP3 sensation ( well index finger ....)

The later loading action you get with lagging clubhead makes it more obvious... you can only sustain lag if you feel it!

Any particular reason why a LCT is not as popular today, and was moreso with the old-timers?...is modern golf instruction to blame?

I would say yes. In modern popular instruction, they often like to see either the one-piece takeaway, or a little early wrist hinge; a LCT dosen't have the firmness of wrist that most modern instructors like to see.

The same reason that MOST of the junk that is taught — is taught — the teachers have NEVER WITNESSED SOMEONE WHO CAN REALLY TEACH doing something they don't understand!

The "Lagging clubhead takeaway" is being employed with GREAT SUCCESS with my current star pupil, and she really can't hit it anywhere near as good without it.

Brian.
your star pupil does the LCT, what do you have her do in chips and pitches?

Same, it's not difficult. People have this huge misconception about the LCT, it can be done a lot or a little. All it means is you are moving the hands first.

Also whoever said that thing about Snead using one IS DEAD WRONG. He was the one who used what is now coined as "the one piece takeaway."

Wasn't it Sarazen who got mad about Sam's "one piece" stuff...? read that somewhere... probably here:) ... certainly not in any Golf magazine... Gene who??? The year i have spent on the internet is worth 10 times the knowledge accumulated in 25 years of golf magazines... thanks everyone!
