Need some help until Brian comes to Chicago - Video

I bought these lessons at a certain national chain before I found this forum. They have been worthless except for the video I get from them. I would appreciate some feedback from the Manzella Academy or anyone else that has some ideas. I have been working hard on the Manzella videos (I have them all except for the bunker) and some stuff I got from the Jacobs video. My misses are slight pulls and hooks. I know my face is closed at the top with a NSA type twist away, but I can't stop the hooks even if I reduce the closed face at the top.

Thanks.

I would be interested in learning whether Manzella Instructors think your stance is too narrow and your ball position too far back, and whether you resist allowing your left arm to naturally rotate during the backswing.

Jeff.

You flip it... and hit the back of the ball. You could work on the clubface at the top, but it won't help you if you don't lag to low point. A lot of excellent strikers played from a shut position at the top (Trevino) for one and faded the ball. I'm willing to bet the farm you don't take a divot (left of the ball) on a mid-iron or possibly short iron for that matter? Watch "Flipper" 10 more times and work the "towel pivot drill" until you can deliver some "impact hands." Good luck, it's not that easy:)

The funny thing is that I can hit the ball with impact hands. I have done several videos at home. The club is hitting the box with a flat left wrist, but I still hook it. I end up going to this swing to try and stop the hook because when I hit it with impact hands it goes about 40 yards further and is uncontrollable.
