    Ryan Moore's Swing (Pre-set wrists)

I was looking at how Ryan Moore pre-sets his wrist cock earlier today; I guess he does this because of a wrist injury he is battling with. Anyhow, it appears that he cocks the club straight up from the address position and then takes the club to the top from there. Of note, I've seen PGA...

Need help, rolling the club to inside

A swing fault that I constantly battle is rolling the club to the inside on the takeaway. Any of you have any good swing thoughts or drills that you work on and/or give to students to help eliminate this move? Thanks!

    Downswing Pivot and Flipping

Would I be correct in my assumption that flipping could be a direct result of not completing your downswing pivot. In other words, if one were to stop turning on the downswing, would the hands be forced to flip through the impact area in order to square the clubface? While we are on the...

    I need alignment help!

I have always struggled with aligning too far to the right of my target; I can be aimed as much as thirty yards right of my target. I think this problem has led to me constantly fighting an over-the-top move. I've tried picking out a spot in both front and back of the ball and I've envisioned...

Crushed the ball today with this move...

I had a lesson with Brian last Saturday that is really starting to pay dividends. We worked a lot on hitting the box, which as most of you already know is putting the entire club shaft on the box at impact. What I focused on today, in addition to putting the club shaft on the box, was to "not"...

    Lesson with Brian today

I had another very successful lesson with Brian today. I've had three total dating back to September of 2005 and the video footage from #1 to #3 is very encouraging. I've all but eliminated my over-the-top move, very rarely hit the ball fat anymore and only have a hint of a flip at impact...

    Left Shoulder Up

The left shoulder up move on the downswing is one of my all-time favorite swing thoughts...Thanks Brian! But, here is my question, does the left shoulder go up on the downswing because you move the shoulder up? Or, does the left shoulder go up automatically as a result of the hips moving...

    Axis Tilt and Driver Pop-Up

Another axis tilt thread, I know. But, what would cause one to hit the Driver very high when focusing on axis tilt? Maybe keeping the head too far back? Don't have a problem with the irons.

I may have eliminated my fat shots!

As I have posted before, my tendency over the past few years has been to swing over the top and/or hit an ocassional fat shot. These faults have kept me from improving from the 5-8 handicap range for the past 5 years. Thanks to some lessons with Brian I have all but eliminated the flip and...

Can over acceleration cause fat shots?

I've always struggled with hitting the ocassional fat shot during the course of a round, espcially with the long irons. I've tried most everything to include not flipping the club, swinging under the stick, spine tilt and maintaining a steady head, but I still manage a few fat shots during the...

Hips square at impact, need help?

I was reviewing some footage of my golf swing today and noticed that my hips and shoulders were square at impact. I know this isn't right! On average, how much should the hips be open at impact? How about the shoulders? Thanks!

    Right Elbow on Downswing

I've reviewed a lot of Tour Player swing sequences over the past month and I've noticed in most of them that the right elbow (right-handed golfers) stays very close to the right hip during the downswing. Seems to work hand-in-hand with right shoulder going down plane. Do any of you use this a...

    Upper Body Lunge

I still have a bit of upper body lunge in my downswing, both downward and forward. Anyone have any good suggestions for eliminating this move? I'm currently focusing on left shoulder up and not allowing the head to move until the right shoulder is under my chin on the downswing (with good...

Why does left shoulder up work better....

than right shoulder down for me? If I think right shoulder down the plane line, I lunge at the ball and have a tendency to hit the ball fat. If I think left shoulder up, I swing from the inside and hit the ball very crisp. Anyone else play better focusing on working the left shoulder up, in...

    Shoulder Turn and Distance

I have a tendency to get lazy with my shoulder turn on the backswing. Any idea how much distance you lose with say a 45 degree shoulder turn versus a 90 degree turn? Maybe some of our scientific-minded folks like Mandrin could help me out here.

Video Answers and AOL Media Player

Anyone else having trouble with the AOL media player when trying to watch Brian's Video Answers? If so, how do I change my default video player? Thanks!

Bowed Left Wrist and Wrist Cock.

I've worked hard on keeping my wrist flat at the top of the backswing. This has certainly all but eliminated my tendency to fade, but I have noticed that if my wrist gets bowed at the top, I don't get a full wrist cock. Or at least it doesn't feel like I do. Thoughts?

#3 Pressure Point under the Sweet Spot

I "think" I have heard it said before that one should work the #3 pressure point under the sweet spot on the downswing. Anyone else heard that? If so, can someone explain when the #3 pressure point starts working its way from under the sweetspot to behind it?

    Hitting Down with Long Irons

I would be interested in hearing from our TGM experts about hitting down with the long irons (fairway woods too I guess). Do all of you hit down on the ball with long irons on a steep enough angle to take a divot?
