    How does a hitter finish

I have a relatively simple question, but one I struggle with. When Hitting I will often times hook, due to finishing with a swingers motion(a horizontal hinge). How does a hitter actually finish, without feeling like you're trying to intentionally hold the face open. Thanks

    Closed Clubface....

Played nine yesterday and I'm getting a case of the left's. Divots are going straight or slightly right(right-handed), so I'm guessing getting a closed face at impact. As a swinger should you go to impact fix first to make sure you won't be closed at impact??? My swing thought is to actually hit...

    Too much bent right wrist???

Hey guys, lately I'm playing the best golf of my life, actually shot 77,74,80 in my last three rounds, which is great for me. However, being a golfer it is the norm that it's still not good enough. Right now my miss is still left, not a pull, but a ball that starts right down the middle and then...

Review of Brian's "How not to Hook" Video

For those of you who have seen Brian's "How not to Hook" video you have seen what I believe is his plane board. Basically just any thing straight that runs parallel to your target line. I have been working with this approach for the last couple of weeks in an effort to stop dropping under plane...

    Strong Grip

Been struggling lately with hooking the ball, which has been my nemisis for sometime. Last night just toying around at the range I started employing a much stronger grip than my typical neutral grip. I noticed that with this wrist action I seemed to have a less handsy action and was able to just...

    Old School golf...

I've noticed in watching a lot of old clips that a lot of golfers(Nicklaus, Snead, Price, M. Wright, and Hogan(to some extent)) all lifted their left heel on the back swing, some more than others. In observing this it seems that the left heel could be good for assisting in timing and getting the...

Question about "How not to hook video"

Brian, I really liked the "how not to hook video", it really worked well for my irons, but for some reason, I was pull-hooking the driver about every third or fourth drive. Any suggestions....Brian or anybody else... Thanks and keep up the great work.

    Can't keep wrist cocked

Lately with the Driver, I have really struggled with letting my wrist uncock too early, the result for me the face shuts down and for lack of a better term I get a "leakage hook". As a hitter should I even double cock my wrist(back and up) or should the wrist cock only be back(aka Brian's twist...

    Need Help on Short Game

I'm a hitter by definition, I'm a pretty fair ball striker, however, I'm having an extremely difficult time with pitching and chipping the ball from the 10-70 yard range. I either thin the ball or decelerate and fat. Stick me at a 100 yards and I'm fine because I can take a real strong lob wedge...

    Vijay and Rocco

Has anyone seen the Vijay and Rocco pro session on the golf Channel. I thought it was pretty good, Vijay's part about rhythm while basic was very good..

Thoughts on a flying right elbow

I've noticed that when I try to keep my elbow by my side, I have a tendency to get flat on my swing. When I let my elbow fly(ala. Nicklaus), I'm in better position to support the club and keep on plane. I believe Homer said something about this, but I can't find it mentioned in TGM, anybody else...

    Lag Killer

Been hitting some balls and tonight discovered I was swaying on my backswing. I had been so focused on my hands that I had forgotten the fundamental of a solid foundation and making sure that I'm turning and not swaying on the backswing. As soon as I made that correction, bingo, solid contact...

Chuck Cooks article in Golf Digest

I don't believe he's a TGM guy, but I believe he was right on target with his article in Golf Digest this month. I know I fell into the trap of not using the right shoulder, because I was scared of coming over the top, resulted in hanging back and flipping the club.... What did you guys think...

    Best Drill for maintaining lag

I have a problem with losing lag on my swing and sometimes getting a leakage hook. What do you guys recommend for keeping lag(impact bag, dragging the mop). Any help is appreciated, THanks

    Moe Norman's Swing

Quick question, after working on hitting some, I was wondering if "Natural Golf" or Moe Norman's swing, nothing more than a single plane hitting motion??? Anybody have anythoughts on this...

    Lesson with Yoda ...aka holenone

Yesterday I had the pleasure of having a private lesson with Yoda. I have had golf lessons with probably no less than 10 people including the(Hank Haney School and several others). The amount of lessons and reading have probably hurt me, I've got a million thoughts going through my head at...

    dropping under the plane.....

I'm trying this winter to resolve an issue I've had the past two years. I have a problem of dropping the club during transition, coming under the plane and flipping the club. The result of this move is typically a pretty bad hook. My miss is left and I'd love to be able to take the left side out...

    Karen Stupples

I don't know if any of you saw her on the golf channel, but I was very impressed with her swing. Looked very compact and generated a lot of power. Redgoat, I think she'd be a great addition to your sight. Brian, did you see any major faults with her swing?

Video is an amazing thing....and scary...

I actually got to see my swing on video today and saw something so horrid an shocking it was flat out scary. I've always thought I turned my hips correctly towards the target. What I found out was that I drive my hips toward the ball and flatten out the plane, and lose my spine angle. If you...
