Everyone is MISSING THE POINT.

I know you can't stretch the left arm farther than it's full length, but on video from down the line at transition, it LOOKS that way. So what am i looking at? The shaft loading?

You're probably just seeing the slack being taken out of the shoulder girdle.

Oh, and what you are seeing is 10-23-C Top Arc and Straight Line. It always look like "de-lagging" or "width". And it's kind of a nice way to maintain Rhythm and Tempo.

Thank you

I know what straight line delivery path is...what's top arc? Also, what other players do this that you know of?

Any time your hands go beyond the Top (i.e. Hands above Right Shoulder) you cannot use the pure Straight Line Delivery Path -- instead, you have to use the Top Arc SLDP. You don't even need to think about it. Once the hands go above the right shoulder, it's impossible to take a straight line path at the ball. Your hands have to retrace the path it took to get back to right shoulder height, so it can then take a straight line path at the ball.

Any players who zero shift on the downstroke and whose hands go beyond right shoulder level at the Top will be using the Top Arc SLDP.

Get the 6th edition. Given holen1's reasoning that $1200 for the AI class is comparable to the $250 Homer charged 20 yrs ago, the 7th edition will cost at least $100. :(

MizunoJoe...why are you so bitter?

Mizuno Joe-
Bobby Schaeffer, Billy McKinney and I run 'Elite Golf Experience' Seminars - this means that yes it is not all about the golf but it is also about the experience! If that intails boozy nights and girls with short skirts and plenty of cosmetic surgery well so what: I am sure Homer would not have minded. lol.
Relax my friend and get your mind back in your hands.

Your reading something that isn't there - that was just a realistic price estimate on the 7th edition and answers your original question #2. Maybe the price difference doesn't matter to you.

Just kidding around with you two - I really enjoy your posts.

My mind is always on the pivot cause I want a good divot. [8D]

No offense taken, MJ. There is a lot more to life than g.o.l.f. and I'm proud to
have balance. And I wish I had more money than brains. Maybe I can sell this one
to science for a few hundy or just trade it for some booze. jk, I bet I'm the biggest
health nut and fitness kook on here. And I'd compare my personal science library to anyone's, too.
I just keep it dumbed down, for you, MJ. jk, I enjoy your posts, too.
And you'll see that TOP ARC with Adam Scott, Jay Sigel (big time), Tom Kite(more in the old days), maybe a little in Appleby and his twin Allenby..soo many ways to skin a cat.

Sorry Joe...i just ASSumed that you had an issue with TGM LLC and how they are charging for authorization and since it didn't seem very radical to me hence i thought i saw something that wasn't there.

Just hit me in the back of the head when you see me hahaha

Plus, the Hat is about the nicest, smartest, most humble, effective, and good professional that I know. And he's still a great player...he plays about one tournament a year and always does well.
Schaeffer is very fun-loving, but authoritative and focused when it comes to G.O.L.F. He's also hysterical and quick-witted.
4 Barrels is the future of G.O.L.F. I'll be surprised if he isn't on the cover of all the magazines in about 5 years. He lives this stuff and can really explain it.
But Gregg McHatton is on another planet than every other teacher. Very evolved.

bill,

You'll lose that bet - I'm a veggie who doesn't eat eggs or milk. And you didn't mention the longest, slowest, ugliest Top Arc of all time - Bob "Hot Dog" Murphy.

jim,

No problem - my ex-girl friend said that my failure to communicate in person was matched only by my obtuse writing style.

1) I need some help with a move that two of my favorite golfers do but i don't know WHY they do it. The move i'm talking about is done by Ernie Els and David Toms. At transition (backswing to downswing) it "looks" like their left arm gets longer. Like they magically applie a bunch more extensor action. Is this just me having "slow eyes." Is what i'm REALLY seeing is the shaft loading? Help please.

2) I've finally decided to buy the book...where is the best place to buy one and which do you feel is the best edition?

Thanks
Buy the 6th.

I believe what you are seeing is the inert left arm being loaded against the driving right shoulder - and the perception that the left arm is both straighter and perhaps longer...

Think about it. If the right shoulder drives while the left arm is still on its way back - the gear train is in effect - and I can see how this can appear to make the left arm longer (though obviously it isnt). Take a pencil between your forefinger and thumb and quickly move right and left - the pencil will appear to bend, even though we know its not.....

Excellent response....your response confirms my "lazy eyes" and "shaft loading" theory and Bill comfirmed the top arc delivery.

Thanks guys!
