I hadn't seen these and thought they might be of interest.
ETA, actually I had seen and commented on the GP segment, but hadn't remembered the videos being projected in front of him).

The interesting thing about the second is you can see the cup in Hogans' wrist at the top. And at impact, as Gary points out, the right arms sure are different.

interesting. when i first saw that video of gary player talking about their swings, my thoughts were mostly "gary you dont know what you are talking about. go get some more airmiles".

but now i see more clearly what he was tryin to say. he says how tiger is over rotating and flattening his wrist in the takeaway and getting laid off. so the solution is a more inward takeaway with less wrist cock, clubhead more outside the hands and a softer left wrist, and then start down by pulling down with right elbow below left on downswing.

sound familiar? ;)

If I remember the clip correctly, I think what made Gary sound like he was crazy was that he seemed to think Tiger's flat left wrist was the problem, when Gary himself employed one to win many majors. So, he may have been right, if you take away what Pecky did, but Gary just didn't explain himself very well.

its funny how some people dont give legends the benefit of the doubt when they have something to say about the swing, just because it isnt what they think is right. its nice to see you guys come around.

Speaking of finally understanding what a legend mean about the golf swing, I had seen Tom Watson's video several times on Youtube about "the secret of golf." He's dead serious about figuring something out in 1992 that he obviously views as very important. The first couple times I heard it, I went "huh?" - it sounded like he was describing an over-the-top move.

Today I happened to watch it and it was a fairly decent explanation of the "carry" move someone might use in a NHA downswing to swing more left, avoid BPS, and stop hitting lots of blocks and hooks.

Just look up "Tom Watson swing" on Youtube to watch the 5 minute video.

Speaking of Gary Player, ever watched him (and Trevino explaining Player) showing his bunker technique?

In my humble opinion the Watson clip will send those people into golfing oblivion if they take him literally. Gary Player's analysis is really interesting, not as much now that we've all heard it here many times before, but very interesting nonetheless.

I sometimes used to rip on GP's analysis.............

I will concede that in some ways I think he makes some good points with the stuff on "arched vs. bent and how it can affect your path (whether it be anatomical/biomechanical or through mentally sensing and adjusting)."

Though there are exceptions.....i.e. Trevino. (he swung plenty left)

And I still don't see how a flat left wrist could be anyting but a good thing.

And the fact remains:

Player's left wrist was flat too!
