Why are the tour averages from a couple of years ago -1*?
i wonder about this as well. is there any evidence that this AoA, non-optimal for distance, is better for accuracy or any other important variable?

An aircraft flies level at a constant speed over a giant scale, say 1 mile long. The scale has a 10 pound weight on it. Will the scale read:
a) the weight of the aircraft + 10 lbs.
b) 10 lbs. - the weight of the aircraft
c) 10 lbs.?
i wonder about this as well. is there any evidence that this AoA, non-optimal for distance, is better for accuracy or any other important variable?
So what's the answer?
It is not exactly optimum.
Just a basic chart.
Either way, 279 or 285 in the AIR!!! is just not for the faint of golfer.
So what's the answer?
SteveT is stood outside Santa's grotto, explaning to all the kids that the concept of a jolly fat man and numerous reindeer being able to lift a packed sleigh off the ground, fly and deliver gifts to children across disparate parts of the planet within a twelve hour span is a scientific implausibility. The real question is where is SteveT to explain all this to us?
