i wonder about this as well. is there any evidence that this AoA, non-optimal for distance, is better for accuracy or any other important variable?

Remember, the tour still has a lot of players from a generation ago. Plus, the average is skewed by players like Charles Howell, who hits down like 6degrees. I would like to see individual AoAs from different players. I'll bet the averages in a few years are different.

It is not exactly optimum.

Just a basic chart.

Either way, 279 or 285 in the AIR!!! is just not for the faint of golfer.

A nice little 280 cut with the driver, or as Jared likes to call this shot... a stock 3 wood.:)

Another question

You throw a golf ball into the air and catch it. At the moment of impact with your hand does the earth:

a) move up

b) move down

c) not move

Which way is up?

As for the other riddle I am guessing you are right as long as the plane is flying low to the scale. Although it should read less than the total weight of the plane+ the 10 lbs. Although as a disclaimer I have been sampling the cookies to I am a little hopped up on sugar at this point.

The real question is where is SteveT to explain all this to us? And why are we doing riddles? And who named them riddles?

SteveT is stood outside Santa's grotto, explaning to all the kids that the concept of a jolly fat man and numerous reindeer being able to lift a packed sleigh off the ground, fly and deliver gifts to children across disparate parts of the planet within a twelve hour span is a scientific implausibility.;)

Classic! I am betting he boos at children marching in parades too.

Does this have anything to do with research that suggests Chuck Norris pushes the Earth down while doing push-ups?

Hmmm...My swing speed is about 107-109 and my carry - at sea level, (I'm no good with heights!) - is about 255-260. What can I possibly infer from this?!?!
Must be all the smog in N.J slapping the ball out of the sky earlier...Yep, that's it!!
Wonder if Trackman does a Jersey Shore version?
