Crack!!!

Your hips reverse WAY WAY too much.

You need to get into your right hip socket better going back and—like Hogan said—crack your right nut.

Then you have to learn to have your HIPS and SHOULDERS WAY WAY WAY more open at impact.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for the response. Could you elaborate a little on the movement of my hips (i.e. what I'm doing wrong and what I should do to correct it).

Thanks again,
Golfman

This may sound counter intuitive, but I believe it is consistent with Brian.

Look at any professional baseball player unloading weight on their front/left foot while batting. As the bat goes back there is a lifting of the front/left foot in most players. This demonstrates the loading of weight, or as Brian indicated a loading onto the back/right hip. Only then a can at transition a distinct pivot onto, rather than into, the front/left hip occur. This will diminish the slide through the left side and promote a posting up on the front/left leg. This will dramatically reduce the flip. IMHO.

I have this same tendency. In practice a full lifting of the left foot during the backswing and "replanting" on the downswing (ala baseball batting) reminds me of what I need to do to stop the flip.

who thinks this club is open at the top? if the forearms over-rotate on a FLAT plane, as we have here, the club face is actually closed. The only time fanning causes an open face is when it is done with an upright backswing causing a cupped left wrist and a VERY open club face. With the club working that much around, you HAVE to move body forward to keep bottom of arc somewhere near the ball. If you stay on that flat plane, you will have to get some sweet spot lag. Only vertical swings or over-the-top moves can release the club that early.
