A quick look at how I use the body in my teaching

Define body.

Is the body everything but the arms and hands? Do the arms include the sternum, the clavicles, and the scapulas? Are the leg bones, hipbones, ankle bones, feet bones, and toe bones part of the body bones or part of some other entity? Where is this so called
separation of body bones versus some other type of bone? Until you label any bone as a body bone versus some other kind of bone,
then all conversation within or regarding this video is jibberish. In academia, there are two types of bones - appendicular or axial. If
axial is the body and appendicular is something other than, then I teach appendicular and you can shove axial up your spine where it
belongs.

You can teach body moves until the cows come home but if the hands are not educated then what the heck is the point. As Mr Doyle said the hands are like two Australian sheepdogs if the're not trained they will kill all your sheep. Think about that statement. I find it pretty darn relevant.

I focus on the hands and arms as much as any teacher I have ever seen teach, Ben included.

You guys missed the point of the video, I was talking about all the body movements I do teach...not that these movements were all I teach.

Understand?

Do the sheepdogs know they are supposed to have their wrists starting to go toward bending 60° pre-imact??

If they don't know that, they may not kill your sheep, but you may have to 'cause you won't be able to pay for dinner.

As a coach/instructor, I am still perplexed why some coaches separate themselves in this fashion. ALL PARTS OF THE BODY have an influence over what the club does. Everyone's body is different and I strongly believe we as coaches need to take that into account when teaching them.

Brian, my comments were not aimed at you, it was just an observation I have of some of the instructors thinking one can exist without the other. Sorry if it sounded like I was attacking you. No blood no foul right? haha

Where can I find something on the movement right before impact.?The part where you stated you hold sweating men's rib cage and the movement of the left hip going up?

Jerry,

YOU CAN NOT rotate like any good swinger of the club, unless you use the ground to do it.

You can try to use every fiber of your body, bones, muscles, and even spine, and you'll do next to ZERO rotationally.

So, how do you do it?

You have to COMBINE the forward and backward twisting at the feet, and shearing from the shifting, with...

Pushing up toward your left ear from your left foot.
