Hit 11 Greens in Regulation, giving a GIR of 61.11%.

One-putt 2 out of 11 times you hit a green in regulation (two-putting the other 9 holes), giving a Putting Average of 1.818.

For the 7 holes where you didn't reach in regulation, Scramble 4 of them by making 3 pars and 1 birdie. Make bogies on the other 3 holes. This gives a Scrambling Statistic of 57.14%

This round will give you a Birdie Average of 3 and a Scoring Average of 72.

All of that = starving

Well I guess there are about 53 players starving on the PGA Tour then, including Davis Love, Brad Faxon and Retief Goosen.

Btw, I'm just trying to show what one needs to (or can) do to get even par.

It's funny how some of the worst statistical players can be at or near the top in money won. A lot of times cumulative stats don't reflect relative consistency. Someone may be redhot for a couple of weeks and then be absolutely horrible until they find it again. Stats wouldn't reflect how great those two good weeks were and how bad the bad weeks were.

BTW, I really like your analysis. It's similar to something I did earlier this year that showed what it would take to be in the top 1/3rd in every statistical category.

tong...scramble a birdie after missing the GIR, are you suggesting it is average for a tour player to chip in once per round?

I did dozens od charts like these for my first—and never released—book, "Absolute Golf."

I guess they need to be redone and posted someplace, huh? :D

My Last 2 Rounds

Here are stats for my last 2 rounds

Friday - Fwys = 10/14, GIR = 12/18, Birdie chances - inside 5' 0 for 5, 5' to 10' 0 for 4, 10' to 20' 1 for 2, outside 20' 0 for 1. Saves 2 for 6. 2 penalty shots (1 OB). Score 76 (4 over) - 1 Birdie, 3 bogeys, 1 Dbl.

Sat - Fwys = 12 / 14, GIR = 14/18 (1 par 5 in 2), Birdie chances inside 5' 0 for 3, 5' to 10' 0 for 3, 10' to 20' 0 for 4, outside 20' 1 for 4. Saves 3/4 .
Score of 71 - 2 birdies (1 2 putt + 1 35 footer). 1Bogey - went for par five in 2 and pulled into water. This was the missed up and down after the drop.

Moral of the story - Short game and short putts win.
