Hi, how much..is too much lower body movement during the downswing?

it seems like I have problem when i turn my hips too fast. HOw much of hips movement should I turn? and How do i hit it against "firm left side" ??

Picked up this drill from somewhere else....wish I could claim it's mine cause it's a great drill. :p

Get an old broom, stick, shaft, dowel, whatever and thread it through your belt loops. Make some swings and try not to "block" yourself out on the downswing.

Where do you place the broom/stick etc? In front of your belly or on the side?
