What exactly is influenced by the use of a "ten finger grip" in contrast to a conventional overlapping grip? What about Jim Furyk's double overlap grip?

How well are golf clubs designed for their intended purpose? What would an optimally designed club look like?
 
We know that, due to the inertia created in a full swing downswing, the club's motion from approximately knee high to knee high takes place on a single plane.

Is this also try for a putting stroke? How about a short pitch shot?

In other words, what kind of Clubhead speed is necessary to create enough inertia to keep the club on a single plane?
 
Jorgensen talks about the pull of the left shoulder on the left arm. Was he wrong, or is it a case of feel does not equal real?
 
Has anyone on the panel researched the brain and/or how individuals best learn motor skills? If not, do the scientists believe that it would be a good idea to include such an expert on future panels?
