Long ago on a rainy December day in New Orleans, I was in search of more answers on the golf swing.

So...I went to the David Art Supply store near City Park in New Orleans, and purchased one of those GIJoe looking art figures.

I found out many things, and will do a presentation on some of these one day, but here is one to CHEW ON:

The relationship between how OPEN you need to be to EASILY (Hint: Key word) draw a straight plane line, IN RELATION TO how much axis tilt you have.

Trust me, there is a RELATIONSHIP, and, it a'int in ANY book.

I would say the exact opposite.

So would I. If you're sitting in an office chair that swivels, put your feet on the floor and tilt to your right.... What happened to the chair and your hips?

Dante said what?

I have the book in front of me, Mr. Ed.

I don't see anything about the ratio of open hips & shoulders to axis tilt, only that he (correctly) likes 'em both.

:)

It seems to me that the more open you are, the more axis tilt you need to keep your shoulder from going over-plane. I think. Maybe.:)

Almost degree for degree, tilt to open shoulders.
Isn't it just natural to open your shoulders when you tilt. You have do something pretty weired for that not to happen, i.e. go seriously under plane.

I can't find the article, but I remember where they had the measurements of the different pros with hips so many degrees open and this degree of this and that, but I think it was about 30 degrees of side bending (axis tilt??) so if they have 30 degrees of tilt we are saying 30 degrees open with the shoulders or am I backwards here??

No, you just need more tilt for the extra delay.
