any thoughts on this pass?....

definitely a swing you wouldn't recommend someone to copy, but he obviously knows how to control his numbers to create the desired shot. Pretty dynamic as well.

Hope you don't mind my thoughts on his swing.

Take out 3/4 and up to the top of back swing and then down to about 3/4 in the down swing, then the rest of the swing looks very normal.

Martin, where do you see underplane? I think he plays the best you can from laid off. Similar to Sergio, he turns it down right away and angle hinges thru the ball. very accurate way to play.

A small tidbit on him. At the end of the season when he was leading the event in Scottsdale, the announcers said something to the effect that he and his coach don't work on underlying swing mechanics but that they only work on "ballflight."

He hits the ball a long way. My impression watching several rounds at the end of the season was that he is pretty wild with the driver and had trouble hitting fairways in the clutch but sort of made up for it with the length. I liked his attitude playing. He has won a lot events at prior levels and plays like someone who is aiming to win, not just earn checks, and assumes he will win.

I'm basing my thought on how the club exits. It's high to me and the convex right wrist screams "catch up."

He has the same "snapping" hip motion that Rory McIlroy has just after impact.

Any comments on this from the staff instructors? Good chain snapping? Any ill effects on the body?

I think the odd body motion comes from a quick transition from laid off trying with all his might to turn (tumble) the club. You can actually see a similar thing from Chad Campbell which i believe is for the same reason.

I think he's slighty underplane as well. But that may just be the camera angle. Some of his pattern is certainly unorthodox, but has to be very repeatable. If he's underplane like I think he is, that may be his biggest concern down the road.

I agree. Man, does it ever look like a great place to play.

Thanks, it is a blast. A lot of golfers are blown away and can't function the first go around. There is a TON going on.

Special pricing if you see me in the Golf Shop and yell out "BALONEY" at the top of your lungs.

After I wipe up the pee from laughing so hard, I'll hook you up on the guest rate:)

Fair enough. We will agree to disagree. In to out maybe, but i dont see under the plane. Check out last parallel in the downswing. But whatever, he can beat my ass red. The bowed right wrist in the throughswing is an angled hinging move to me that is seen with a ton of Tour players, O'hair and Furyk being two. Interesting discussion though.

The wife and I are going out to that coast soon. I'll yell Baloney from anywhere you want to play there. Dont think i'm dropping the 5 bills again to play Pebble.

Just a couple of things I'm seeing. Like I said, the camera angle isn't exactly right DTL.

When I look at this, I can only assume he is able to hit the ball with the HSP going quite a bit out to the right. I'd like to see him hit some iron shots though.
