And to birdie man.....big grin....If I smacked you up side the head with a ping and a "soft" mizuno....I don't think you'd call either "soft". The soft mizunos strike the ball very hard.

Haha.

I know the ball speed is not gonna be affected........I am talking about feel.

Basically I do not like "subdued"........"muted"...........etc. I have never understood the hype over real soft feeling shots.

Tying in with the thread though......I actually never have hit a Mizuno iron...

BTW Bill.....you are trying blades........another sign of leaving Hacker University behind, yes?

Jim said:
feel in iron is 90% sound based; the iron engineers have figured this out long ago and they are trying to get the cast irons to sound more like a forged iron thus the gofler using a cast iron will "feel" more like a forged iron.

Ya Wishon basically believs the same thing as far as I can tell.

Jim there was even an article a while back about a company getting people to hit balls painted different tones.

Same ball...........same properties.........different tones of white.

The bright white ones where reported by the testers as feeling firmer...........the duller looking balls where reported as feeling softer.

I agree with you there, Birdie. I've had really soft strikes, and didn't particularly care for them. I like to know that I hit it (I'm a bit of a brute), and those soft strikes just aren't that gratifying:)
