assuming golf instruction is like a religion

spktho is correct! Great answer.

Each person is different and has their own strengths and weaknesses. No one "way" will work for everyone. There are certain patterns that emerge to give one the highest probability of execution, but there is no "way" that is right for everyone. One of the mysteries of the game that keeps us coming back.

P.S. I'll keep searching anyway for one right way because I love the journey even if I know I won't find it. I get a little closer but the "way" always moves when I get closer.

is there really the right way to play golf?

There is a right way, a left way ... and a wrong way ... and most are in the latter category :p

The problem ??? 99.9% of all golfswings are 'homemade' ... you figure it out.

Minimize the axis tilt of the ball...learn to aim it! :D

In place of "minimize", substitute "control".

Sorry, fellas ... you can neither "aim" nor "control" for the Impact event once you get deep into the downswing ... it's all freewheeling, ballistic and kinetic energy flow ... whoopie ...

(Wanna bet the Project 1.68 scientific brain trust agrees with me ..??!!!)

Yes but, prior to "deep into the downswing"?

Did they say to do it when they were deep into the downswing. That sounds like a stupid assumption on your part.

Should we assume what you are saying is that the best golfers in the world do not control the golf ball they are hitting better than other golfers on average? It is somehow controlled by "freewheeling, ballistic and kinetic energy flow" randomly applied?
