Both of those would be valid options in my view, given the swinging force (swinging) or angeled hing (hitting), and their relative effects on the moving club

Hitting or swinging, take an impact fix, then assume normal address position with the club grounded. The ball will be on the toe of the clubhead.

If you are using the normal angled hinging in your hitting stroke, AND don't want to fade the ball, the face should be closed.

It's possible, or at least miss to the left of the center of the clubface. Using impact fix in practice will give you a good sense of how far toward the toe to play it when playing, without going through impact fix. Most TGM players, including pros like Elkington, don't do impact fix in tournaments, probably because of the time and/or doing something "funny" looking in public. BUT, they SHOULD. Homer said that once you realize how precise you can be, you will realize how precise you need to be.
