It's tradition... Like DQing a player if he incorrectly signs his scorecard. Basically Golf BS;)

I think it's nuts too. In pro golf anyway.

Everything is freaking videotaped and watched in person by 1000s of people...

Who the hell is gonna even try to cheat never mind get away with it.

While recommending and teaching the interlock for players with small/weak hands, Sarazen for the full swing used a combination of the baseball and interlock with the left thumb "hanging free" Could this option benefit some players or was it an isolated situation?
 
My take is that it took 600 years to come up with the grip we have now, and yours must need some fixing.

The Baseball grip sacrifices radius length.

Would the ten finger grip and its tendency to provide more right hand contribution to the downswing also tend to promote the dreaded "flip?" :confused: I had an instructor suggest that I try the ten finger. His theory was that more right hand contact would assist the dominant hand to increase swing speed.
