I would be very surprised if there are more than two or three players that can carry the ball 300 yards. The ball rolls miles on Tour, you'd have to swing at about 125 mph minimum to do that and I don't think many players would be doing that on the course.

I hope I am not totally wrong on this...

How fast do you have to swing it to carry 300 with Tour equipment? Bout 120-125?

They only count 2 holes per round for Driving Distance. So if one of those holes don't fit the eye with a driver for one of the bombers, their true average distance is going to be skewed downward.

Not correct...they measure every hole now...at least per a tour player I know. They have all that shotlink equipment and I'm pretty sure they measure every hole now.

From the pgatour link, it seems they only measure 2 drives per round. They list the number of rounds (around 30-40) and number of drives measured (60-80)

Sure..they measure for Shotlink all shots, including all tee shots, but for the official Driving Distance stat they only use 2 pre-slected holes to calculate with. Usually using straight par 5''s or long (straight) par 4's.
